2 Reasons I Chose to Hold Lampin’ Yoga Classes Outdoors
Reason 1: It’s more affordable, for both me and you.
Practicing yoga in a studio or gym can be very expensive. At the onset of the pandemic, all yoga studios had to immediately shut down. I spent everyday during the lockdown outside doing yoga in my backyard. I quickly realized the relief to my bank account that this change had. Despite what people want you to think, it’s possible to get a good, full yoga practice without spending $30 a class at a studio. When I was creating Lampin’ Yoga, I started searching for spaces to hold my classes and wondered why nobody took advantage of the great outdoor spaces that are open all year long in Miami. Miami is filled with sunny, palm tree-filled areas. Not only are these spaces free to use, but they’re way more gorgeous than any indoor yoga studio. Holding all my Lampin’ Yoga classes outdoors means that I can offer a full one hour yoga experience to my students at an affordable price. All Lampin’ Yoga classes are currently only $10 for a one hour Mindful Vinyasa class.
Reason 2: Being outdoors relieves stress.
As humans, we are meant to go outside and be in nature. Every single yoga class I teach starts with breathing. A breathwork practice becomes much more effective when you’re breathing in fresh air. Getting outdoors is shown to reduce stress, help improve blood pressure, and boost mood. All of the healing benefits of yoga are amplified when you practice outdoors, as opposed to indoor. For an added benefit, our mindful yoga classes happen at sunset. Your body’s natural circadian rhythms, or the cycle that tells our body when to go to sleep and wake up, aim to sync up with the sun. Watching the sun go down sends a message to your body that it’s time to go to bed. Come take a Mindful Yoga class at Sunset with Lampin’ Yoga and enjoy a deep sleep afterwards!
